Each 1 ml of suspension contains:

  • Amoxicillin trihydrate: 150 mg
  • Gentamicin sulfate: 40 mg
  • Solvent q.s.: 1 ml
Uses
-

Treatment of pneumonia, hemolytic E. coli, diarrhea, enteritis, mastitis, metritis, milk reduction, and abscesses in cattle, buffalo, horses, goats, sheep, and pigs.

Pharmacological properties
-
  • Amoxicillin has a bactericidal effect by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell wall mucopeptide. It is rapidly absorbed after injection, widely distributed in tissues and synovial fluid, and penetrates cerebrospinal fluid (10–60% of plasma concentration). In dogs, only about 13% binds to plasma proteins, and its concentration in milk is low. Amoxicillin is primarily excreted through the kidneys, although some are metabolized into penicilloic acid and excreted in urine. The elimination half-life in dogs is approximately 90 minutes.
  • Gentamicin sulfate is an aminoglycoside antibiotic with a bactericidal effect by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis via binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit. Gentamicin is poorly absorbed after oral or uterine administration. After intramuscular injection, Tmax = 0.5–1 hour, while subcutaneous injection absorbs slower. The bioavailability of injection routes exceeds 90%. After absorption, the drug disperses into extracellular fluids, with only about 20% binding to plasma proteins. It is excreted in its unchanged form through urine.
  • The combination of Amoxicillin and Gentamicin creates a synergistic effect, enhancing bioavailability and maintaining effective blood concentrations for extended periods, requiring only one injection per day.
  • The combined antibacterial spectrum includes Gram-positive bacteria (Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, Corynebacterium) and Gram-negative bacteria (E. coli, Pasteurella, Salmonella, Pseudomonas).
Usage
-

Administer intramuscularly once a day for three consecutive days. Shake well before use.

  • Cattle, buffalo, horses: 1 ml per 10 kg body weight.
  • Pigs, goats, sheep: 1 ml per 7–8 kg body weight.

For large injection volumes (e.g., cattle, buffalo), administer in two sites for better absorption.

Withdrawal Period:

  • Meat: 14 days.
  • Milk: 2 days.
Recommendations
-

Drug Interactions:
Do not use concurrently with tetracyclines, phenicols, macrolides, or lincosamides.

Use During Pregnancy:
Safety for use in pregnant animals has not been documented.
