الخواص الدوائية للدواء

Rifamycin SV: A macrolide antibiotic derived from Streptomyces mediterranei. It is a bactericidal antibiotic that binds to the beta subunit of RNA polymerase, inhibiting the initiation of new RNA synthesis, thereby suppressing bacterial protein synthesis. Rifamycin SV primarily acts on Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., and Mycoplasma. It is not absorbed when administered orally. Therapeutic blood concentrations are achieved within 15 minutes after intramuscular injection. Rifamycin is non-toxic even when used at doses higher than recommended.
Colistin: A polymyxin group antibiotic produced by Bacillus species. It acts as a bactericidal agent against Gram-negative pathogens like Salmonella and E. coli.

The combination of Rifamycin SV and Colistin sulfate creates synergistic and mildly additive effects, particularly concentrated in the bile. This leads to bactericidal action in the intestines. The drug is primarily excreted via feces. While Rifamycin mainly targets Gram-positive bacteria, its high blood concentrations can also eliminate some Gram-negative pathogens, including Mycobacteria.

الاستخدام

Administer intramuscularly, intravenously, or subcutaneously.

General dosage: 1 ml per 10 kg body weight.
If necessary, administer twice daily.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:

For meat: 1 day.
For milk: Discard the first milking after treatment.

USE DURING PREGNANCY:
No documentation is available. However, Rifamycin should not be used during the first trimester of pregnancy in humans.
